New House Old House

Thought I would post a couple of pictures of the rental house we are living in now in Gore New Zealand. Most of you that would have any interest in reading this blog would have been to our house in Houghton and those of you who haven't been there can see the house on our first posting here. Quite a difference. We did want to downsize anyway. And other than occasionally noisey neighbors (mostly a warm weather phenomenon) we are generally happy here. I have spent some time on the yard and gardens and more time than I like to admit on mowing with a push mower. I think of it as aerobic exercise. But still looking good for winter. Even now we have some roses blooming and some primrose pansy and rhododendron. Go figure. Will try again to put some pictures on without losing the posting.

Not good enough yet

Had this posting all ready to go and lost it when I tried to edit the photos. So I guess I need to be creative a little earlier in the day and I probably need more lessions. So much for my fear of deleting something. I just deleted the whole posting instead of one photo. So in the interest of not totally wasting my little creative burst, I will add at least one photo from our Fiordland trip and then try more again Later.

Another Attempt

I am trying to make the most of some private consulting from my nephew. So we will see if I can post a photo of Scott's big rainbow. He will be so happy if his friends can see this big fish.

Oops

Next project, to figure out how to edit photos. Sorry about the image of fish and fisherman twice and the failure to rotate the fabulous scenery with fisherman photo. I'm still learning. Cheers

To Fish or Not

To Fish or not to fish, that depends on the weather. I have a few photos of the "early days" of fishing in NZ. These were big brown trout then, but not so big now after even larger ones have since been caught. Unfortunately, some were not caught on camera. Fishing season here ends on April 30 so we can only hope.... that we do not have the clouds, rain, or high winds that have been abundant since we arrived. I suppose there is always the opportunity to fish in lakes and the mouths of the really big rivers. And there is always next season.

Another Attempt

Hello everyone. I was planning on spending more time on improving my blog management and updating, but the weather decided to get warmer and sunnier. I wanted to try to show you all this photo of Diana when we were in Cairns wearing "Grumpa's" backpack. I love the proud look. I will try to get pictures up soon of the big guy with some of his big fish. It is fall here and we are approaching winter with interest. All is well here. Cheers, Sue and Scott
